NDC exposes 15 Ghost Projects on Dr. Bawumia’s Delivery Tracker in Yilo Krobo

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Yilo Krobo Constituency has conducted a fact-check which uncovered what they described as lies and exposé of the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on government’s infrastructure delivery tracker.
In a press statement issued by the Yilo Krobo Constituency Communications Officer of NDC Emmanuel Akumatey Okrah, has exposed some fifteen (15) ghost projects on the presentation made by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on government’s Virtual Town Hall and Results Fair at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS) has peddled some falsehood in the infrastructure projects captured in the delivery tracker.
The Constituency NDC has provided an evidence based report on the projects within the Yilo Krobo under three categories thus; claim, source and reality which discloses some ghost projects and projects constructed by previous government.

We have observed with shock the deliberate and calculated attempt by the NPP government to deceive Ghanaians as have been their stock in trade. We bring to you in this release, our observations of the lies that have been planted in the deceptive delivery tracker of the NPP government in the Yilo Krobo Constituency.
Below is a list of projects that found their way unto the delivery tracker that ought not be there;
1. Claim:On-going Enable youth 1D1F (Processing of Mango Juice factory)

Reality: The claim is untrue. There is no such Project being undertaken in the Constituency. There is no Factory being Constructed by this government in Yilo Krobo.

2. Claim: Completed Renovation of RTF Building.

Reality: This claim is false. This building with the additional fittings and machinery installation was constructed and completed as part of the Rural Enterprises Programme as far back as 2015. The NPP after winning power have since abandoned usage of the facility for the past three years. We are at a loss how the spraying of weed killer chemicals around the abandoned building constitutes a Renovation.
3. Claim: Completed Akorwu Bana Clinic with Mechanised Borehole.

Reality: This is a project the NPP has had nothing to do with. The said Project was funded through the Common fund and was began and Completed by the NDC government as far back as 2016. The project though completed is not utilised by this government.
4. Claim: Completed Construction of Prime meridian monument (longitude O°)

Reality: This claim is False. The construction of the monument was done by the Ghana institute of Surveyors to commemorate their 50th anniversary. This is evidenced on inscriptions on the said monument located at Akpese on the Somanya-Akuse road.
5. Claim: Completed Klo-Agogo Nurses Quarters.

Reality: The claim that this is an NPP project is false. The project is an initiative of the NDC goverment which was began by same government. It is erroneous to count same as an achievement of the NPP.
6. Claim: On-going Construction of 6 unit Methodis JHS clossromm block.

Reality: The said project is not an initiative of the NPP govt. It is funded through a DDF facility and Project was began under the NDC in 2015.
7. Claim: Establishment of University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya.

Reality: The UESD Somanya campus was Established by the NDC government. The NPP led by Nana Addo only came to Commission it. Is it public knowledge as evidenced by fact-checks conducted by both Citi fm and Ghanaweb, that the UESD is a product of the NDC.

8. Claim: Completed Construction of road to fortified fertiliser site.

Reality: The claim is false. The Road leading to the yet to be established fertiliser site is a road made possible by movement of farm tractors and Tipper trucks. It is not a constructed road.
9. Claim: Completed Construction of Yikrosec junction to Adjikpo road.

Reality: The claim is false. The said road was Constructed and completed by the NDC government in 2015.
10. Claim: Completed Nkurakan Presby School.

Reality: This claim is false. The said school is the hand work of “Pencils of Promise” (An N.G.O) and not government. A visit to the school would reveal “Pencils of Promise” boldly written on the School block.

11. Claim: Completed water Extention Main line to Yikrosec.

Reality: This claim is false. There is no such Project like that. The school has been connected to the main line since the school began operating many years ago.
12. Claim: Completed Construction of Feeder road from Aboa Osuboninya to Aboa Besease.

Reality: This claim is untrue. There is no such Completed feeder road from Aboa Osuboninya to Aboa Besease. The project just doesn’t exist. Anyone visiting the place today would notice the road is in a very bad state.
13. Claim: On-going Renovation of Assistant Director’s Bungalow

Reality: There is no such Project existing anywhere in the Municipality. The current Assistant Directors resident is just as it is, with no on-going works.
14. Claim: On-going Renovation works at District Engineer’s Bungalow

Reality: The claim is untrue. There is no work currently on-going at the Bungalow of the District Engineer.
15. Claim: Completed Renovation of MCE’s Residence.

Reality: We observe no such Renovatory works on the said facility as is being made public.
Conclusion: It is our observation that School building projects that had toilet facilities included in them have had the toilets detached from them to make the toilets look like separate projects.
Second, it is also our observation that, Community Electrification Extension projects to 133 communities which were completed under the NDC have been recaptured as projects started and Completed under the NPP.
Work steadily progresses on Hohoe-Jasikan stretch of Eastern corridor road
In addition, we observed that, the NPP had deliberately broken the communities into several parts by naming towns within Beneficiary Communities of the Electrification extension just to have more towns or to pad up the number of towns so connected.
It is laughable to observe as an achievement of this government, the painting of residences of the MCE ‘ the Assistant coordinating Director and the Municipal works Engineer captured as Projects in the government’s delivery tracker. This is evidence of the corruption that has engulfed this government and we invite the people of Yilo Krobo to help us kick this super incompetent government of family and friends out come December 2020. We also want to remind the MCE that the Oterkporlu and Okwenya Bridges still remain death traps. The MCE is on record to have announced the Commencement of work on these two projects as far back as 2018, but with barely three (3) months for this government to leave power, nothing has been done in relation to those bridges.
