The elections committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has disqualified Ayawaso West Waguon’s Samuel Bossman at Upper West Akim, Adeiso.
Samuel Bossman was contesting for Youth Organizer at the Upper West Akim and he was disqualified by the vetting panel last Friday at Adeiso on the grounds that he’s not a registered voter in the constituency.
According to the information picked by Coverghana.com.gh Samuel Bossman is not a registered voter at Upper West Akim rather Ayawaso West Waguon.
According to the NDC constitution, anyone who intends to contest for a position in the party will be brought under article 2.0 (2.1) – qualification/contesting respectively.
To qualify to contest elections at the constituency level, the aspirant:
i. Must not be a member of any other political party.
ii. Must have attained the age of 18years and above.
iii. Must be a registered member of the party at the constituency where the person intends to contest the election.
iv. Must be an active Member in the last four (4) year within the constituency.
v. Must have paid his/her dues for at least 1 year.
vi. Must not have breached any of the provisions under Article 40(1) clauses a-f of the party’s constitution.
vii. If an executive member of the constituency, may stand for re-election if he/she meets the necessary qualifications.
According to the elections committee, Samuel Bossman did not meet some of the requirements as enshrined in the party’s constitution hence, the need for his disqualification.
