NIA announces fee adjustment and charges for registration services

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the adjustments to fees and charges for registration services in line with the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations, 2023 (L.I. 2481) passed by Parliament in February 2024.

According to NIA, these adjustments will come into effect from Wednesday, 1st May 2024.

The services are grouped into three (3) categories namely: First time registration, Card replacement service, and Personal Information Update Service.

The updated fees under each category are as follows:

First Time Registration

1. First Time Registration -NIA District Office – FREE
2. First Time Registration NIA Premium Centre – GH¢310.00
3. First Time Registration ECOWAS Sub-Region – Cedi Equivalent of USD55.00
4. First Time Registration Rest of Africa – Cedi Equivalent of USD75.00
5. First Time Registration – Countries outside Africa – Cedi Equivalent of USD115.00

Card Replacement Service

1. Card Replacement – NIA Regional/District Office – GH¢125.00
2. Card Replacement – NIA Premium Centre – GH¢420.00
3. Card Replacement – ECOWAS Sub-Region – Cedi Equivalent of USD55.00
4. Card Replacement – Rest of Africa – Cedi Equivalent of USD75.00
5. Card Replacement – Countries outside Africa – Cedi Equivalent of USD115.00

Personal Information Update Service

1. Record Update Only – NIA Regional/District Office – FREE
2. Record Update Only – Nationality Update – NIA Premium Centre – GH¢310.00
3. Record Update with replacement of card – NIA Regional/District Office -GH¢60.00
4. Record Update with replacement of card – NIA Premium Centre -GH¢355.00
5. Nationality Update – NIA Regional/District Office – GH¢70.00
6. Nationality Update – NIA Premium Centre – GH¢365.00
