Okudzeto Ablakwa commissions new 3,000 capacity Maternal and Child Clinic in Juapong

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, has commissioned a new Maternal and Child Health Clinic in Juapong. This facility is expected to significantly improve maternal health outcomes in the area, with a capacity for 3,000 safe deliveries annually. The facility was commissioned on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

According to Hon. Okudzeto, Engage Africa Now Foundation partnered with him to give life to the project.

“I am grateful to Engage Africa Now Foundation for the great partnership which saw this facility being built and equipped in 6 months,” Hon. Ablakwa stated.

For the smooth running of the facility, the Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa donated all the medical equipment required to make the health facility operational from the day of commissioning.

“This facility has the capacity for 3,000 safe deliveries in a year and would tremendously improve maternal health outcomes.”

At the commissioning event, he announced other approved projects in his constituency, North Tongu.

The approved projects as stated by Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa are as follows:

1) Construction of the Aveyime-Asutsuare Road;

2) Construction of the Juapong-Podoe-Abutia Road;

3) Construction of the Sege-Battor-Mepe Road;

4) Construction of the Volivo to Dorfor Adidome Bridge over the Volta River;

5) Construction of dormitories, dining halls, and labs in all 5 Senior High Schools;

6) Construction of a teacher’s bungalow.

Further, he stated that he has also made arrangements for all BECE candidates to check their results for free as the MP’s office takes up the cost.

“The good people of North Tongu can be assured that despite my demanding national and international commitments, there will be more projects and initiatives now more than anytime in the past,” he promised his constituents.

“My beloved North Tongu shall receive its fair share of development under President Mahama’s Reset Agenda,” he concluded.
