Over 2,000 people died through road crashes in Ghana according to MTTD’s released report on Ghana’s accident data from January to December 2023.

The Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) has released Ghana’s accident data for January to December 2023.

According to the released data, the category, number of persons injured and Private vehicles recorded the highest figure.

Statistics

Total reported cases -14,135
Vehicles involved – 23,998

The breakdown

Commercial vehicles -8,084
Private vehicles – 10,767
Motorcycles – 5,147
Number of persons killed – 2,276
Number of persons injured – 15,409
