Pierre Marcel Poilievre is a political figure who has led the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition since 2022.
Poilievre has been an MP since 2004. Alberta’s Calgary is where Poilievre was born. He completed his studies at the University of Calgary and received a Bachelor of Arts in international relations.
Later, he worked with Stockwell Day, the founder of the Canadian Alliance. Following the 2004 midterm elections, Poilievre was first elected to the House of Commons; he first represented the Nepean—Carleton riding in the Ottawa region until switching to the newly constituted Carleton riding.
