The Ghana Police Service has arrested three (3) students for attacking housemaster at Wa Technical Institute.
On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, the Police Service arrested three (3) students who allegedly attacked been arrested their housemaster at the Wa Technical Institute in the Wa municipality of the Upper West Region.
The school authorities promptly filed a formal complaint after learning about the vicious assault on the teacher.
The victim, identified as Ishmail Musah Froko, the housemaster, sustained severe injuries during the attack and was swiftly rushed to the Wa Municipal Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The incident unfolded at the House Two block of the Wa Technical Institute, where the housemaster was conducting a routine monitoring visit.
During the violent confrontation, one (1) student was arrested for assaulting the housemaster, while the two (2) others were apprehended for assaulting a fellow student who bravely intervened to rescue the assaulted teacher.
In the aftermath of the disturbing event, the headmaster of the Wa Technical Institute reassured parents that the situation was being handled with utmost seriousness, and the safety of all students at the school was their top priority.
He emphasized the need for parents to actively participate in monitoring and guiding the behavior and conduct of their children.
The police have taken the three (3) students involved in the attack into custody to assist in the ongoing investigations.
