Police CID to investigate Kennedy Agyapong for threatening Multimedia Journalist Erastus Asare Donkor

There is fresh trouble for the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as he has been reported to the Ghana Police Service by a company.

The Multimedia Group who are the operators of Joy FM, Joy News, Adom TV , Adom FM among other television and Radio stations has petitioned the country’s police service to investigate Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

This report made against the lawmaker followers alleged threats issued by the Lawmaker against Journalist Erastus Asare Donkor after he testified before a committee set-up to investigate riot at Ejura which resulted in some deaths.

A portion of the petition to the Police CUD said “Honourable Agyapong launched the above scathing attacks and threats on Erastus Asare Donkor’s life because of the journalistic work that the latter undertook during the recent shootings and kiling incident at Ejura, and his appearance before the Kíngsley Koomson Committee”

In their petition to the Ghana Police CID, the company indicated that Kennedy Agyapong has a history of threatening journalists with one which has resulted in the death of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.

“Sir, you may recall that sometime in the recent past, Honourable Agyapong 1Ssued similar threats against Ahmed Hussein-Suale, who at the time had undertaken some journalistic works; Ahmed Hussein-Suale was later horribly killed.”
