Pre-Tertiary Teacher Unions in collaboration with government through GES and MoE have reached a consensus to distribute Mate 1 TM1 laptops to Pre-tertiary teachers across Ghana. The Vice President of Ghana H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has launched the laptops on Friday, September 3, 2021, at St Mary’s Senior High School in fulfilment of government’s pledge to equip Ghana’s teachers with the requisite ICT skills to prepare the next generation for the Fourth Industrial revolution.
It appears that, the decision to distribute the laptops has backfired following the conflicting cost and cost sharing between government and the teacher. Some teachers are in disagreement and vowed not to take the laptop while others welcomed the decision irrespective of the hulabollon hovering around the initiative.
Are you a Ghanaian, are you a teacher and or a taxpayer? Do you support the Controversial “One Teacher One Laptop Project?” Don’t just make noice on social media. This is the opportunity to test the pulse of the initiators of the policy. Kindly cast your vote now.
