The Management of the University of Cape Coast has entreated the general public to disregard the deliberate, wicked, malicious and false publications by Modern Ghana and Phoenix against Prof. George K.T. Oduro.

According to a report, the University Of Cape Coast (UCC) has no records of Prof. Oduro being cited in matters of plagiarism or rape.

The attention of Management of the University of Cape Coast has been drawn to publications in Modern Ghana and Phoenix online portals, in which a Mr. John Boateng, is imputing that professor George K. T. Oduro, a former Pro Vice Chancellor, Provost of the College of Distance Education, Director of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration and a Dean, School of Educational Development and Outreach of the University obtained his PhD
through subterfuge from the University of Cape Coast.

The publication states that Prof. Oduro’s work was discredited for plagiarisation. He was also alleged to have raped a female colleague.

Management wishes to state that the University of Cape Coast has not conferred any PhD on Prof. Oduro. He studied and obtained his PhD from Cambridge (1999-2003).

The University of Cape Coast has no records of him being cited in matters of plagiarism or rape. The general public is therefore, entreated to see the publication as falsehood and an act of sheer mischief and treat it with utter contempt.

Professor Oduro throughout his 30 year’s association with the University as an undergraduate student and a lecturer, rising to the rank of a Professor, discharged his duties with utmost professionalism and without any blemish.

The University of Cape Coast reassures its stakeholders that it always exercises the highest due diligence recruitment and retention of its staff and Prof. Oduro is no exception.
