The Public Services Commission has revised the criteria for the correction of Date of Birth for public officers.

According to a document signed by the Chairman of Public Services Commission, Prof. Victor K. Agyeman dated June 26, 2024, the Commission stated that at its 1st Plenary Meeting held in May 2024, they have adopted a revised criteria for the correction of date of birth for public officers.

The document stated that “In line with Government Policy, the Commission decided to accept the ECOWAS Card (Ghana Card) as an approved document for correction of Date of Birth.”

Needed documents for the correction of Date of Birth 

The effective date for this important update is 1st July, 2024. From the effective date, any public servant seeking correction of his/her date of birth must submit the ECOWAS Card along with any two (2) of the seven (7) documents below:

(a) Birth Certificate, issued within ten (10) years after birth

(b) Personal Records Forms/Card completed on first entry into the
service

(c) SSNIT Record/Card; (d CAP 30 Record

(e) Baptismal Certificate, issued at most ten (10) years after birth

(f) Passport, issued within twenty-five (25) years after birth

(g) Educational Records/Educational Certificates with date of birth

Further, the Heads of organizations were directed to bring these guidelines to the notice of all members of staff for their guidance.
