Qualifications for a Tutor Position in Colleges of Education

Qualifications for a Tutor’s Position in any Accredited Public Colleges of Education in Ghana has been released.

According to the information, applicant must hold a good first degree and a Masters’ degree in a relevant subject area.

Relevant here implies that, it should be a course being taught at the college you are applying to.

Please Note:  Both degrees must be in the same subject area.

Example; Guidance and counseling for first degree and Counseling Psychology or Guidance and Counseling for Master’s degree.

Currently, a Research Masters I’d most preferred due to the introduction of B.Ed program and upgrade of colleges to full tertiary status.

Appointment to the position of Tutor shall be for a term of five (5) years and may be renewed for a second term upon satisfactory
performance.

A Tutor’s appointment may be renewed up to a maximum of three terms, that is, a total of fifteen (15) years up on which the appointment may be terminated unless the applicant qualifies for promotion to Senior Tutor position.

This implies that, upon appointment, you have 15 years to move to the next level or move out.
