Seven more communities in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region get their fair share of Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome’s polytanks donation to mitigate water crisis.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for South Tongu constituency Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome on 18th July, 2022 held a town hall meeting with the following communities at Agave: Kua, Godzekpota, Asidowui and Dzebetato.
The Member of Parliament, after the town hall meeting also made a donation of seven (7) polytanks to Aklale, Godzekpota, Avegagome, Asidowui, Dzebenu, Sondo and Adigblikope.
Earlier this year (2022), the MP had donated about ten (10) polytanks to some selected communities in the South Tongu District. Some of the earlier beneficiary communities are Feyito, Hlevi, Agorkpoenu, Yorve among many.
According to Kobena Mensah Woyome, the purpose of the polytanks donation was to mitigate or temporarily address water crisis in some communities within his constituency.
In the recent times, some communities in the South Tongu District are facing water crisis, a situation which needs an urgent attention.
Mr. Woyome who has already commenced vigorous plans to mitigate the water crisis said, the main reason for the water crisis is as a result of delay on the completion of Agordome Water Project.
He explained that, the Agordome water project when completed will help supply water to South Tongu and other adjoining communities thereby solving the persistent water challenges confronting his constituents.
The Ranking Member on Youth, Sports and Culture said, the unavailability of water for his people is a challenge he and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government are determined to solve as soon as possible.
As a way to ensuring that, the Project is completed on time, the MP on Monday, 6th June, 2022 paid a surprise visit to Agordome to inspect the ongoing Agordome Water project.
