Shannon Sharpe is a former American professional football player and television personality. He played tight end in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons, primarily with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens. He is currently a co-host on the sports talk show “Undisputed” on Fox Sports 1.

Sharpe was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 26, 1968. He attended Savannah State University, where he played college football. He was not selected in the NFL Draft, but was signed as a free agent by the Broncos in 1990. He played for the Broncos for the first eight years of his career, during which time he established himself as one of the best tight ends in the league.

In 2000, Sharpe signed with the Baltimore Ravens, with whom he played for six seasons. He helped lead the team to a victory in Super Bowl XXXV and retired from football following the 2001 season.

During his career, Sharpe caught 815 passes for 10,060 yards and 62 touchdowns, which are all records for a tight end at the time of his retirement. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
