SHS to be expanded from three to six years

Senior High School education to be extended from three (3) years to six (6) years as reported by GBCGhana.
The Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has revealed that the Government of Ghana will soon put measures in place to extend the length of Senior High School education in the country.
According to him, the Education Ministry will soon seek for approval from Parliament to expand the Second Cycle Institution or Senior High Schools (SHS) from three to six years.
This is to be done by amending the Pre Tertiary Education Act which stipulates that the Junior High School forms part of Basic Education in the country.

The Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum who made this revelation at the 60th Anniversary celebration of Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, CHASS, indicated that the expansion will ensure that students are well equipped and prepared for the Second Cycle Institutions across the country.
