Sing-A-Thon: Afua Asantewaa breaks Guinness World Record

Ghanaian broadcast journalist and entrepreneur, Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum breaks the longest-singing marathon record in the Guinness World Record.
Afua commenced this journey on 24th December 2023 and is expected to end on 27th December 2023 in addition to 9 hours. (24-27 December plus 9 hours).
As of 9:00 am today, 27th December 2023, she reached 105 hours and still counting.
Afua Asantewaa has now reached the 105th line. However, she has to make up for all breaks taken during the marathon and break the record.
According to the set world record, the Indian Sunil Waghmare sang for more than 105 hours however, after scrutiny and deduction of hours (unnecessary pauses, breaks, some errors) and checking with other rules governing the race, the Guinness World Record (GWR) approved 105 hours for his feat.
After Ghana’s entrepreneur and journalist, Afua Asantewaa has reached the 105th hour of the Sing-A-Thon, it simply means she has now reached Sunil Waghmare’s approved record without deductions.
Afua is now expected to sing for more hours in order to set a new “longest-singing” record and deductions by the GWR officials.

- As the journey continued, Afua added 5 hours (@2:00 pm) to the already attained 105 hours @9:00 am, 28th December 2023.
- At 6:00 pm same day, Afua added 4 hours making +9 hours (i.e. 105 hours + 9 hours)
- At 11:00 pm the same day, she marked 14 hours in all bringing the hours to 119 hours
- She ended 28th December 2023 marking +15 hours in all starting from 9:00 am
- 29th December 2023 begins at midnight (00:00 am)
