Sogakofe Senior High School (SOGASCO), Volta Region has unveiled an extraordinary 5-in-1 agriculture machine at the 4th edition of the Energy Commission Senior High Schools Renewable Energy Challenge.

The challenge is held under the theme “Mechanized small-scale agriculture using renewable energy technologies.”

Indeed, innovation and technology are on the rise hence, the nation ought to embrace the direction and nurture the youth in that direction starting from the various Basic Schools including SHSs.

SOGASCO unveiled an extraordinary 5-in-1 agricultural machine which has been described by the Energy Commission as “a game-changer” in the Renewable Energy Challenge among the SHSs competing in the challenge.

The machine is designed for handling slashing, spraying, harrowing, seed-sowing, and hole-digging.

BACKGROUND

The Energy Commission of Ghana has organised a competition for SHSs where they will showcase their innovation under the theme “Mechanized small-scale agriculture using renewable energy technologies.”

Six (6) outstanding schools earned their spots in the Grand Finals.

The schools are:

  1. Kwabre Senior High School
  2. Sogakofe Senior High School
  3. Dormaa Senior High School
  4. Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School
  5. Serwaa Kesse Girls’ Senior High School
  6. Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School

The Grand Finals competition is slated to come off on 17th October 2023, at the Accra International Conference Centre for the six (6) schools to battle it out for the ultimate prize.

At the end of the entire competition, presentations will be made by the students accompanied by great prizes.
