St. Ambrose College of Education, Dormaa Akwamu in the Bono Region invites applications from suitably qualified persons for consideration for appointment to the following Senior Management positions at the College. The institution is a Public College of Education and affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.

1. COLLEGE INTERNAL AUDITOR
The Position/Job Description
The Internal Auditor is the head of the College’s Internal Audit Unit and provides independent, objective and consulting services designed to add value and improve the College’s operations. He/she also provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control and governance processes of the College.
Duties
The applicant must:
- Ensure the establishment and operation of an efficient and effective internal financial control system.
- Vet all proposed expenditures to ensure compliance with laid-down internal control systems and other statutory requirements.
- Assess the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguard losses.
- Monitor and ensure that expenditures incurred have been authorised and are within budgetary provisions.
- Liaise with the external auditors to ensure that appropriate actions are taken on reported audit findings.
- Draw the attention of the Principal of the College and the Finance Officer to deficiencies in the system with recommendation for remedies.
- Discharge any other assignments that the Principal of the College shall deem necessary.
Qualification
Candidates for the position must:
- Hold a good first degree and a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Have a professional qualification in the relevant field and be a member of a relevant professional body, as well as a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Have served as a Deputy Internal Auditor in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years.
- Have strong intellect, be analytical, critical, result oriented, innovative and visionary.
- Have proven emotional stability and integrity.
- Possess strong I.T. skills and familiar with financial management framework.
- Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills
- Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining the compulsory retirement of sixty (60) years
Tenure of Office
The College internal Auditor shall hold office for a term of four (4) years and may be eligible for re-appointment for another term only, provided that no part of the second term enters the compulsory retirement age.
2. COLLEGE FINANCE OFFICER
The Position/Job Description
The Finance Officer is the Chief Accounting Officer and the Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal of the College. He/she shall be responsible to the Principal for the financial administration of the College.
The duties of the Finance Officer include but are not limited to:
- The collection of ail legitimate revenue due the College.
- Sourcing funds for the College.
- The implementation of policies relating to accounting and financial control and health of the College.
- The proper record keeping of all College property, assets, stocks and valuables of all funds in a register.
- Exercising control over expenditure in line with the College’s objectives and budgets.
- Preparation of annual budget of the College for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation.
- Ensuring that the financial statements of the College are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the Colleges, the statutes, applicable accounting standards and all other regulations approved by the College, as well as all other relevant national laws.
- Liaising with the appointed external auditors to get the College’s financial statements audited, and
- Liaising with the Ministries, Departments and Agencies in respect of financial matters affecting the College
Qualification
The applicant must:
- Hold a good first degree and a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

- Have served as a Deputy Finance Officer in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/ organisation for at least four (4) years.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Have strong intellect, be analytical, innovative, result oriented and visionary.
- Have proven emotional stability and integrity.
- Possess strong I.T. skills and be familiar with accounting software.
- Be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining the compulsory retirement of sixty (60) years.

3. COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
The Position/Job Description:
The College Librarian provides leadership in advancing the College’s teaching and research mission through a clear vision of the library’s role, comprehensive strategic planning, incorporation of emerging technology, sound fiscal management and engagement of all members in the College Community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. The librarian must serve as a professional and administrative Head of the college library.
2. He/ She must establish and maintain procedures, policies and systems that make for efficient library operation
3. The librarian shall be responsible for the provision of adequate, relevant and up-to- date reading, and audio-visual materials to support the teaching, research and community service functions of the College.
4. The librarian shall collaborate with relevant and appropriate institutional libraries and organizations in order to keep up with development trends and attain exposure to developed systems
5. The librarian shall exercise professional and administrative supervision over the staff under the College library to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the library.
6. The librarian shall ensure and maintain a conducive environment for reading and learning in the library.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in Library and Information related field.
2. Applicants must have served as Deputy Librarian in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution / organisation for at least four (4) years.

The College Librarian shall hold office for a term of four (4) years and may be eligible for re-appointment for another term only, provided that no part of the second term enters the compulsory retirement age.
