Steps on how to export goods in commercial quantities
Ghana Shippers’ Authority has detailed the steps needed to follow for exporting goods in commercial quantities.
Kindly follow the steps below judiciously for a successful export process.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDELINES ON HOW TO EXPORT IN COMMERCIAL QUANTITIES
STEP 1Â
To start, you have to register your business with the Registrar General’s Department as the first step.
STEP 2
Next, you have to register as an export company with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA).
STEP 3
After step 2, contact the appropriate Permit-Issuing Agencies (PIA) “where necessary for inspection of your premises and production facilities.
STEP 4
A Certificate will be issued to you. At this step, they will send a copy to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
STEP 5Â
The Permit-Issuing Agencies shall arrange for the testing of samples and inspection of the consignment to be exported and shall issue an Export Consignment Certificate to cover each shipment.
STEP 6
Step 6 is about obtaining additional documents. Here, the exporter may be required to also obtain additional documents where necessary. The additional documents needed include a Certificate of Origin and a Phyto-Sanitary Certificate.
STEP 7
Presentation of relevant documents GRA for processing. The exporter shall present relevant documents to the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at the Exit Point before your products will be processed.
STEP 8Â
Finally, the exporter will notify the importer of the consignment details to help them to receive the goods for export.
