Sukladzi D/A Junior High School and Sogakope Junior High School ‘B’ have won National Union of Tongu Students and Associates (NUTSA) 2022 preliminary quiz and essay competition organized for selected schools in South Tongu District.
The South Tongu preliminary contest held in Sogakofe Senior High School assembly hall on Monday, 28th November, 2022 featured four (4) out of six (6) initial selected Junior High Schools.
The schools that participated in the competition were Evangelical Christian Academy, Dzebetato D/A JHS, Sukladzi D/A JHS and Sogakope JHS ‘B’.
At the end of the four competitive rounds, Sukladzi D/A Junior High School has emerged as the overall best school (champions) with 102 points while Sogakope Junior High School ‘B’ took the second position ( 1st runner-up) with 97 points.
Dzebetato D/A Junior High School came forth with third position (2nd Runner-up) with 61 points.
While Evangelical Christian Academy took the fourth position (3rd Runner-up) with 54 points.
Covenant International Schools – Adutor and Tadze D/A Junior High School could not make it to competition.
With this, Sukladzi D/A JHS and Sogakope JHS ‘B’ have qualified to represent the South Tongu District in the upcoming Inter – District quiz and essay competition for the three Tongu Districts.
The leadership of NUTSA led by Mr. Wisdom Sogah pleads with the District Education Directorate and School Authorities to offer the maximum support to these schools and students for the ultimate prize.
The Inter District Competition shall involve presentation of awards to students, participating schools, among others in addition to trophy to the overall winner.
Leadership of NUTSA expressed its appreciation to the South Tongu District Director of Education Celestine S.A Korsi Agordo (Mrs) and her staff including management of Sogakope SHS for a successful programme.
The Union is appreciative to all schools and students present including the representative from the Ghana Education Service (GES) – South Tongu, Madam Esinam Yaa Tekpor – the Girl Child Coordinator for the district, for making the competition a success.
