T-TEL needs the service of Textbook Development Specialists to work with GNAT to design and produce SHS textbooks

The Ghanaian not-for-profit organization, Transforming Teaching, Education & Learning (T-TEL) needs the service of Textbook Development Specialists to work with GNAT to design and produce SHS textbooks.
T-TEL in their announcement said Ghana’s National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has designed a new Senior High School (SHS), Senior High School Technical School (SHTS) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Curriculum which will shortly be released.
In anticipation of the release of the new curriculum by NaCCA, Transforming Teaching, Education & Learning (T-TEL), a Ghanaian not-for-profit organization, intends to support the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) to work with 14 National Subject Associations to write textbooks for the new SHS, SHTS and STEM Curriculum which will subsequently be submitted to NaCCA for review and approval.
T-TEL is seeking the services of a Textbook Development Specialist to work with GNAT to assist in the design and production of Senior High School textbooks in Ghana.
Tasks/qualifications
- The Textbook Development Specialist will have a key role to play in working with subject specialists from GNAT and the 14 National Subject Associations to ensure the design of a set of high-quality textbooks for Year One of the new curriculum ahead of its national roll-out at the start of the 2024/25 academic year.
- The Textbook Development Specialist should have significant experience of working with international publishers in the process of developing and designing the structure, format and content of textbooks across multiple subjects. Experience of working in Africa is highly desirable.
- The Textbook Development Specialist is required for the period from January to August 2024 and will be expected to complete this assignment through a combination of visits to Ghana and remote working from their home country (if resident outside Ghana).
NB: This position according to T-TEL will be financed under the Leaders in Teaching (LiT) programme, implemented by T-TEL in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.
