Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana in the Eastern-Greater Accra (TTAG-EGA) leadership engaged Former President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama on discussions meant to support Colleges of Education.

The sector president, Owusu Prince Kwabena and his executive officers on behalf of teacher trainees in the Sector have engaged the Former President on 15th November, 2022 and discussed the future of Teacher Trainees across the forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education.

Mr. Owusu Prince Kwabena and his co-executives’ greatest dream always is to build a strong educational system, empower student leadership in the teaching fraternity to engage individuals and all stakeholders that can support their desires and dream to the brim.

Meeting the former President of Ghana, Eastern-Greater Accra Sector of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana leadership made their plans known to him, some outstanding programs of the sector and called for his support and participation.

In showing appreciation, John Dramani Mahama paid attention to their plans, recognizes the essence of the plans pledges support.

Moreso, he made it known to the leadership of acknowledging his service and contributions as a former president to the development of the nation.

He promised to continue serving the nation to the best of his abilities and advised the leadership to use more of dialoguing, negotiations and engagements especially in times like this where the country faces severe economic hardship.

To end their engagement, John Mahama spoke at length about solutions to the challenges Colleges of Education are facing in the country.

Supporting Colleges of Education, he pledged his readiness to support the activities of the sector.

In addition, he also called on the leadership to again in their own small ways try to see how best they could implement some of the solutions outlined and suggested for resolving some challenges in the Colleges of Education.

TTAG-EGA leadership earlier paid courtesy calls on the Eastern-Greater Accra Zonal Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education and Regional Ministers of both Eastern and Greater Accra Regions.

They also paid courtesy calls to Regional leadership of the Teacher Unions where they educated the student-teachers on the activities and aspirations of TTAG.

The leadership used the opportunities to introduce the executives of the sector, their vision, achievements, challenges and together suggested the way forward after which they called for the advice and support of these stakeholders.
