The Teacher Unions in Central Region have announced a Regional protest against government’s feet-dragging posture with respect to the renewal of Collective Agreement.
The protest according to the Teacher Unions is to intended to present a petition to the Central Regional Minister.
The issued notice dated April 29, 2024, signed by Mr. Abdulai Baba Yussif (Regional Secretary GNAT), Mr. Isaac Laud Anderson (Regional Chairman CCT-GH), and Madam Salamatu Gausu (Regional Chairman NAGRAT) detailed the date and time, converging point/route, number of participants for the demonstration.

NOTICE OF REGIONAL PROTEST AGAINST THE FEET-DRAGGING POSTURE OF GOVERNMENT ON NEGOTIATIONS OF OUR COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT
Pursuant to Public Order Act, 1994 (ACT 491), the Regional Executives of the Teacher Unions (GNAT, NAGRAT, CCT-GH), Central Region wish to inform your office of our intention to protest against government’s feet-dragging posture with respect to the renewal of Collective Agreement.
The protest which is as scheduled below, is intended to present a petition to the Central Regional Minister.
- Date: Wednesday, 8th May, 2024
- Time: 8:30 am – 11:00 am
- Number of participants: One Thousand (1,000)
- Converging Point/Route: Cape Coast Stadium, Abura, through Pedu Junction through Adisadel, through Siwdu, through Master Sam Road, through Mfantsipim Junction, through London Bridge, through Ashanti Road, to the Regional Coordinating Council.
