Management of Public Tertiary Institutions has been advised by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to consider accepting a 50% part-payment of fees and charges for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The advice by GTEC to management of the Tertiary Institution was necessary because, it will “enable the students to register at the beginning of the year, with a specific payment plan agreed for the balance to be paid, based on individual circumstances.”

On granting the wish of students as captured in their “numerous petitions and other individuals about Universities allegedly charging fees”, GTEC stressed their reasons for the request for fees payment modality to the Tertiary Institutions saying their request was meant to assist students with “flexible terms of payment and reduce fee-default rate amongst students with genuine financial challenges”.
