Tuanikope-Agavedo community receives support from South Tongu MP
The Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu Constituency, Hon. Wisdom Korbena Mensah Woyome has presented a boat and an outboard motor to the people of Tuanikope-Amedorme Electoral Area to be used by a community called Agavedo; an island, to enhance effective transportation in their daily fishing and other activities.
Presenting the items, Hon. Woyome said the items are for the people of Agavedo living on the island and is also a means by which they can generate income out of it so there is the need for them to take good care of it and maintain it to last longer.

The boat which was donated by the MP cost Gh¢3,000 while the outboard motor costs Gh¢ 9,800, making a total amount of Gh¢ 12,800. According to the MP, he purchased the items using the MP’s Common Fund.
Hon. Lawoe Agbeko Saviour, the Assembly Member for Tuanikope-Amedorme Electoral Area, disclosed to Coverghana.com.gh Volta Regional Correspondence, Tabitha Kugbonu, that the donation was done as a result of the request made by the community members through him the Assembly Member and he wrote a letter to the MP requesting for a boat and an outboard motor.

He revealed that, over the years, the community, specifically the island, has lacked a boat to cross the river and sometimes due to the waves of the river, the small boat they have when students are in it crossing the river to Agorta and it surrounding communities, also sometimes sinks, putting the lives of the younger ones in danger so in addressing these challenges, the Lawmaker assured him of finding a lasting solution to the problem.
He thanked Hon. Woyome for his support for the community and pledged to cultivate maintenance culture in using the items.
