UCC awards Professor Daniel Asua Wubah with Honorary Doctorate Degree

A Ghanaian-American President of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, USA, Prof. Daniel Asua Wubah was presented with an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The UCC conferred the award on Prof. Daniel Asua Wubah in recognition of his strong leadership, compassion, collegiality, enthusiasm, passion for mentoring and for exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism and performance during his 30-year career in higher education.

Prof. Wubah was decorated with the honorary doctorate of Strategic Leadership during a Special Congregation held at the New Examination Centre (NEC).

Prof. Daniel Asua Wubah in profile:

• Born on November 6, 1960 at Kaneshie, Accra.

• Had preparatory school education at Happy Home Academy and primary school education at Kaneshie Methodist Primary School.

• Obtained O-level and A-level certificates in 1977 and 1979 respectively at Accra Academy.

•Earned B.Sc. Botany and Diploma in Education in 1984

• Received M.S. in Biology from the University of Akron,Ohio, US.

• Obtained PhD in Botany and Microbiology from the University of Georgia in 1987 and 1990 respectively.

• Started academic career as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Towson University in 1992.

•Wubah is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

• Presented a testimony to the Research Subcommittee of the US Congress House of Representatives.

• Enstooled as Nana Ofosu Peko III, the Toapentenhene of the Breman Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Traditional Area in the Central Region of Ghana.

•Named by the Board of Governors of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education as the President of Millersville, University of Pennsylvania since July 1, 2018

•Married and blessed with grown-up children

• Conferred Honorary Doctorate of Strategic Leadership by UCC on Saturday, July 29,2023.
