UCC: Office of the Dean of Students directs aspirants to remove campaign materials

The Office of the Dean of Students, Prof. Eugene K. M. Darteh directs aspirants to remove campaign materials with immediate effect.
In a statement signed by the Vice Dean of Students Prof. Edem Amenumey said, the Office of the Dean of Students has noticed with great concern the pasting and hoisting of campaign materials by individual students interested in positions for the 2023/2024 SRC/ L.NUGS/ GRASAG/JCRC elections.
The Office wish to inform these individuals that their actions are illegal since the official period for campaign is not due and also that these campaign materials have been pasted and hoisted at unauthorized places.
This conduct is contrary to the provisions of Article 58 I (C) on page 71 of the University of Cape Coast Students’ Handbook.
The Office is giving all those involved in this blatant flouting of election regulations up to close of day, Sunday, 12th May, 2024, to remove and pull down any form of campaign materials be it, declaration of intent or otherwise within the University and its environs.
According to the statement, If after close of day, Sunday, 12th May, 2024, the Office identifies any form of campaign material within the University and its environs, the individual being publicised shall be brought to book.
