UCC partners with Hunan City University for Internship program in China

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hunan City University in China to send students for internship programs at the university. The partnership will last for five years, after which it will be re-assessed for impact and continuation.
As part of the Language Immersion Program, students of Hunan City University majoring in English Language will also undertake internship programs at UCC. The Pro Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof. Mrs. Rosemond Boohene, and the President of Hunan City University, Prof. He Zhen, signed the MOU on behalf of their respective institutions.
Prof. Boohene described the collaboration as a refreshing one that comes to augment existing efforts by the two parties in achieving higher heights in the areas of common interest. She noted that UCC had established the School of Engineering and would partner with Hunan City University in that area in the foreseeable future.
In his remarks, Prof. He Zhen expressed the hope that the collaboration would be a win-win situation that would enhance the image of the two institutions on the global map. He was accompanied by several officials from Hunan City University, including the Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial Department of Education and the President of Hunan Vocational College of Science and Technology.
This partnership provides an excellent opportunity for UCC students to learn from China and transfer the knowledge gained to transform society. It also highlights the importance of international collaborations in achieving academic excellence and promoting cultural exchange.
UCC’s partnership with Hunan City University is a positive step towards strengthening ties between Ghana and China and encouraging future collaborations for mutual benefit.
