University of Ghana Opens Portal for 2024 Medical Physics Admission -Apply
The University of Ghana (UG), Legon School of Nuclear & Allied Sciences has opened 2024 Medical Physics admission portal and inviting applications from all qualified and interested applicants.
Why offer Medical Physics at UG?
The Department of Medical Physics at UG provides high quality education and training in Medical Physics (MPhil and PhD) and Nuclear Science and Technology Programme (MPhil).
The Department is accredited as Regional Designated Centre (RDC) for Medical Physics Academic Education in Africa by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The Department collaborates with centres such as National Centre for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital), Oncology Directorate (Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital), University of Ghana Medical Centre and Sweden Ghana Medical Centre to offer comprehensive Medical Physics training
Available Programmes
The programmes available for offer are in two (2) folds. The MPhil. Medical Physics an the PhD. Medical Physics.
MPhil. Medical Physics
• 2-year programme comprising didactic lectures, research work and clinical practical.
• Exposes students to the principles in ail disciplines of medical physics.
• Prepares students for hospital – based clinical programme (internship).
PhD. Medical Physics
• 4-year programme comprising didactic lectures, research work, clinical practical and experiential learning.
• Offers students advanced and specialized training in the sub-fields of medical physics.
• Trains students for positions in academia, research and/or clinical practice.
