The Upper East Regional Co-ordinating Council releases press on the murder of Alhassan Azumah, the Deputy Registrar of the Bolgatanga Technical University.

PRESS RELEASE ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF ALHASSAN AZUMAH AT SOKABISI IN THE BOLGATANGA MUNICIPALITY
The Regional Security Council (REGSEC) of the Upper East Region makes reference to an Emergency Joint MUSEC/DISEC Meeting of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly and the Bolgatanga East District Assembly held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at which the gruesome murder of one Alhassan Azumah (Deputy Registrar of the Bolgatanga Technical University) at Sokabisi, a suburb of the Bolgatanga Municipality on Wednesday, January 17, was extensively discussed.
2. REGSEC condemns this dastardly act in no uncertain terms and urges the general public to remain calm whiles it launches full-scale investigations to unravel the mysterious murder of the deceased.
3. REGSEC further cautions the two (2) feuding factions in the protracted Bawku conflict not to extend this unfortunate conflict to the Bolgatanga Municipality and its adjoining districts.

4. Meanwhile, the security agencies have been directed to identify all hideouts and sitting places of the two (2) factions and subsequently disband these ghettos, arrest and prosecute all wanted and suspected criminals among them.
