Internationally acclaimed lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata has commented on the burning of Excavators allegedly being used for illegal mining popularly called Galamsey.
According to the lawyer, the burning of Excavators in the country on the directive of the Government is illegal and unacceptable.
Speaking at a program organized by the faculty of law of Central University, the renowned lawyer further described the burning of people’s excavators as “n0nsense”.

BACKGROUND
It could be recalled that the Government of Ghana has put together a team of security officials to fight against illegal mining and one of the strategies employed by the Government is the burning of Excavators working in water.
However, it has been revealed that some persons have had their Excavators burnt even though they are not using them for any activity along water bodies.
