The vice President of the Republic of Ghana Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the Ghana Health Service will start tracking the progress of pregnant woman in the coy using tablets.

Speaking in a video sighted by coverghana, the vice President stated that going forward, the National Identification Authority database will be linked with some vital data institutions database in the country such as the Ghana Health Service, the Ghana Statistical Service and the Ghana Police Service.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said “Going forward, we are linking the national identification Authority database the Ghana card. We are linking it with the Ghana Health Service, the Birth and Deaths registry, the Ghana Statistical Service and the Ghana Police Service.”

The second gentleman of the land further explained that, linking these institutions database with that of the Ghana National Identification Authority database will enable the Ghana Health Service to track the progress of pregnant mothers.

“This is very important because, all these different institutions are critical in the data provision and this is why the Ghana Statistical Service has agreed to release 13,000 tablets to the Ghana Health Service and these tablets will track pregnant mothers from antenatal clinics until birth.” – Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said in a speech.
