It has been revealed that the Minister for finance, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta was compelled to release district assemblies common funds before reading the 2022 budget .
It could be recalled the Mr. Ken Ofori Atta was scheduled to read the 2022 budget at exactly 9:00am but he delayed untill 1:00pm before reading the budget and many citizens complained about his lateness.
According to the Member of Parliament for the Member of Parliament for Banda who also doubles as the deputy minority chief whip Hon. Ibrahim Armed, the finance minister delayed in reading the 2022 budget because lawmakers refused to allow him read the budget untill he releases district assemblies common funds which is in arrears.
He explained that the Ministry of finance has failed to release district assemblies common funds for 2021 and that is depriving the district assemblies of the needed revenue for development and that the y has to compel him to release the funds before reading the budget.
