The Members of Parliament of the Republic of Ghana has fought over the passage of certificate of urgency vote for the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy) on Monday evening, 20th December, 2021.
Some Members of the 8th Parliament of the Republic of Ghana have exchange headon brawls as they could not hold their emotions in the House during the final vote on the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy Bill.

The fight among some Majority Members of Parliament and Minority Members of Parliament surfaced as the 1st Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu, has announced that a Division will take place to approve the controversial Bill, presented under a certificate of urgency after Minority Chief Whip challenged his decision on a voice vote of the House.
Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu was going to cast his vote as he announced in his capacity as a Member of Parliament while presiding in the Chair over the Vote of Division.
His action has provoked Minority caucus in Parliament thus National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament.
The Minority MPs, questioned his decision to vote after presiding over the Monday night’s proceedings leading to the vote of Division.

In the course of the Deputy Speaker’s exit from the Chair, some Minority MPs moved to the front of the dais, issuing threats at Joseph Osei-Owusu where they crashed with some Majority MPs which resulted into fisticuffs in the House.
Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu following the turn of events has quickly handed over the Chair to the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon. Andrew Amoako Asiamah who adjourned sitting to Tuesday, 21st December, 2021 at exactly 9:00am after the fight on the passage of the controversial E-levy ended.
