Violent clash: Students of Sokode SHS and Sokode Gborgame community members clash; injuries and damages recorded
Volta Region– Students of Sokode Senior High School (SHS) and the members of the Sokode Gborgame community have clashed, leading to several injuries and damage to properties.

In the early hours of today, a violent clash erupted between students of Sokode Senior High School and members of the Sokode Gborgame community, leading to several injuries and damage of properties. The cause of the altercation remains unclear, but the situation quickly escalated, drawing the attention of security agencies and regional leadership.
As an immediate response to restore calm and ensure the safety of students and residents, REGSEC has temporarily shut down the school. Transportation arrangements have been swiftly made to facilitate the safe return of students to their respective homes while a thorough investigation is carried out.
To ascertain the root cause of the unrest and recommend appropriate measures, a committee has been established to probe into the matter. The findings of this investigation will be crucial in determining the necessary actions to prevent future occurrences of such disturbances.
In a show of concern and solidarity, I visited the injured victims receiving medical attention at the Ho Teaching Hospital and the Ho Municipal Hospital.
