We’ll advocate for a policy that allows 50% payment of fees for registration of courses – Team SK for UCC SRC President

The team vying for the head position of the Students Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Team SK has pledged to advocate for a policy that allows 50% payment of fees for registration of courses.

At the vetting of aspirants for 2023/2024 SRC and Local NUGS Positions, Team SK which is made of Gertrude Awesam Addo (Trudy), SRC Vice President, and Vincent Kojo Siabi (SK) explained to the vetting committee that years ago SRC had to come in to lobby for a very long time before the university accepts a 70% payment of fees or even a 50% payment for course registration by students.

Team SK consider this challenge as a great worry for the majority of UCC students hence, promised to champion the course in order to get a working policy that will help students to register at ease.

Speaking about the course registration problem at the vetting, the aspirant, Vincent Kojo Siabi (SK) said, the problem then is “there are some students who are grouped into classes like those reading History, B.Ed Art, etc so they have been prevented from registering right from the beginning of the semester, this prevents them from getting into groups that need a limited number.”

“So, we are going to advocate strongly together with other stakeholders to ensure there is a policy that allows 50% registration of courses for students of this particular university.”

The team SK pledged that they will advocate for a policy that allows 50% payment of fees for registration of courses by all UCC students.
