He believes that, this is a clear violation of Public Sector Rules and regulations. According to him, he can’t hold both positions at the same time.
“Why is Sammy Awuku still holding the National Organisers position of the NPP after his appointment? The NPP party and government should come clear on this. The violations in this government are getting too much. I will personally petition the public sector commission on this.” He said.

Sammi Awuku was appointed as the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
His appointment has been approved by the Council of State, in line with the law governing the appointment of the head of the NLA.
Awuku takes over from Kofi Osei Ameyaw, who was directed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on 10 March 2021, in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, to hand over to the Finance Director, Ernest Mortey, since Osei Ameyaw’s one-year contract elapsed in February.
RESIGNATION
According to the existing practices and the Public Sector Rules, no person is expected to hold a public office and still be in an active political position like it’s being observed in the case of Sammi Awuku. He is said to have resigned immediately he was appointment by the President as the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA). It’s unclear what exactly is delaying his resignation from the Party office as National Organizer.
Until his latest appointment, Sammi Awuku also served as the Board Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), a specialized government agency which has a mandate to co-ordinate and facilitate employment opportunities for young people in Ghana.
