Athlete Winnifred Ntumi won Ghana the first gold medal at the 13th African Games in Accra. She won the medal for winning the women’s 45 kg snatch. Winnifred won Ghana’s first gold medal in the African Games. She also won a silver.

Winnifred Ntumi won Team Ghana’s first 3 medals (1 Gold and 2 Silvers) on the same day. She has a track record for this win. At the 2019 African Games held in Morocco, Winnifred did the same by winning the first medal for Ghana. This time, at the 13th African Games in her motherland, Ghana, she won the first medal for her nation sealing her dominance in that sports fraternity.
