A total of eighteen thousand, three hundred and forty-nine (18,349) candidates sat for the 6th National Teaching Council licensure examination conducted by the council in May 2021.

According to the statistics available to Coverghana.com.gh, 18,349 candidates who sat for the examination include 9,346 males and 9,003 females.

On Thursday, 6th May, 2021 to Friday, 7th May, 2021, the National Teaching Council (NTC) has organized the 6th edition of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) across 26 centres nationwide.

2021 NTC licensure examination begins on 6th May; Important information for Candidates

Two papers (Literacy and Essential Professional Skills) were written Thursday, 6th May, 2021 while the Numeracy was written on 7th May, 2021 across all the 26 centres.

The Registrar of National Teaching Council (NTC), Dr. Christian Addai-Poku visited some centres including Berekum College of Education and Bechem College of Education in the Bono and Ahafo regions respectively yesterday as part of his monitoring duty. The Registrar was accompanied by Mr. Dennis Osei-Owusu (PRO, NTC).

The conduct at both centres were on a top notch. The Registrar encouraged the managers of both colleges to keep up the good work in order to make the whole exercise very fruitful.

The National Teaching Council (NTC) is mandated to professionalize teaching in Ghana hence the introduction of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
