2023/2024 Residential/Hall Fees for University of Ghana, Legon

The University of Ghana has released the schedule of provisional residential fees for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year. The fees, which vary for local and international students, have been announced for various residential facilities on both the main campus and the Korle Bu facilities.

For local students, the charges per semester for single occupancy range from GH¢510.00 to GH¢750.00, depending on the residential facility. International students, on the other hand, will be charged in USD, with fees for single occupancy ranging from $510.00 to $750.00 per semester.

For double occupancy, the fees for international students range from $510.00 to $945.00 per semester, depending on the residential facility. The charges for three students in one room and four students in one room also vary between $510.00 and $945.00 per semester.

The residential facilities on the main campus of the University of Ghana include Legon Hall (Main, Annex A&B), Akuafo Hall (Main, Annex A&B), Commonwealth Hall, Volta Hall, and Mensah Sarbah Hall (Main, Annex A&B). Each of these halls will charge local and international students according to the aforementioned fee structure.

The Korle Bu facilities, including SBAHS Hostel, R Block, B Block, BQ Block, and D Block, have their own fee structure. For example, the charges for local students at the SBAHS Hostel will be GH¢875.00 per semester, while international students will be charged $945.00.

The fees for other blocks and room types at Korle Bu facilities range from GH¢714.00 to GH¢1,018.00 for local students and $945.00 to $1,073.00 for international students.

It is important to note that all Ghanaian fresh students admitted into residence will be required to make an additional one-time payment of GH¢100.00 as a levy for the generator. Additionally, Ghanaian fresh students at the traditional halls on the main campus will need to pay GH¢300.00 as an electronic access fee, which is also a one-time payment.

The University of Ghana has provided a list of banks where students can make their fee payments. The banks include Standard Chartered, Ecobank, UMB, CBG, Republic Bank, GCB, Stanbic, Access Bank, ABSA, Prudential, and UG Pay-Online Payment.

The University authorities urge all students to make their fee payments on time to secure their residence for the upcoming academic year. Failure to comply with the payment deadlines may result in the loss of residential space.
