The Republic of Ghana has officially released its list of statutory public holidays and commemorative days for the year 2024. The schedule includes both established public holidays and significant days of commemoration.

Statutory Public Holidays:

  1. New Year’s Day

  2. Constitution Day
    • Date: 7th January
    • Day: Sunday
  3. Independence Day
    • Date: 6th March
    • Day: Wednesday
  4. Good Friday
    • Date: 29th March
    • Day: Friday
  5. Easter Monday
    • Date: 1st April
    • Day: Monday
  6. May Day (Workers’ Day)
    • Date: 1st May
    • Day: Wednesday
  7. Eid-Ul-Fitr
    • Date: To be announced
    • Note: Movable feast; date provided by the Office of the Chief Imam
  8. Eid-Ul-Adha
    • Date: To be announced
    • Note: Movable feast; date provided by the Office of the Chief Imam
  9. Founders’ Day
    • Date: 4th August
    • Day: Sunday
  10. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day
