28 newly licensed free zones companies inducted

The GFZA GFZA Corporate Affairs on Tuesday, 15th March, 2022 has organized an induction workshop for 28 newly Licensed companies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Amb Mike Oquaye Jnr CEO of the GFZA thanked investors for choosing Ghana and the Ghana Free Zones as a pathway to exporting into Africa and the Rest of the World. He assured the newly licensed investors of the continuous support of his team.

Various Department leads took turns to align the first quarter cohort of the support structure available for businesses.

On their part, the newly Licensed enterprises expressed their gratitude and pledged their commitment to being guided by the obligations, regulations, and requirements of the Authority.

The session ended with an appreciation from the Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Administration Madam Kate Abbeo who charged participants to consistently reinvent  in their operations as they work towards creating more jobs and adding up to Ghana’s export value

The Ghana Free Zones Programme is designed to promote the processing and manufacturing of goods through the establishment of Export Processing Zones (EPZs), and encourage the development of commercial and service activities at sea and air-port areas.

The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) was established on 31st August 1995 by an Act of Parliament – The Free Zone Act 1995 (Act 504), is to enable the establishment of free zones in Ghana for the promotion of economic development; to provide for the regulation of activities in free zones and related purposes. The Board operates under a regulation (L.I. 1618). Actual implementation of the Programme commenced in September 1996.
