49 Students from Togo and Ivory Coast embark on One-Month Study Visit at UCC

A cohort of 49 students from primary schools in Togo and Ivory Coast has embarked on a month-long study visit to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) as part of a language immersion program.
During their time at UCC, the students will focus on learning the English language at the UCC Basic School.
Comprising 40 Ivorian and 9 Togolese students, the group has been assigned Ghanaian mentors who will provide care and support throughout their stay in Ghana.
Mrs. Georgina Aglobtse, the Head of UCC Basic School (South Campus), warmly welcomed the visiting students and their teachers during a brief ceremony, describing the educational tour as a “home away from home.”
She assured them of a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout their time in Ghana, expressing gratitude to the host families for their generous hospitality.
In a brief statement, Mr. Hilaire Biossey, a teacher from College Planque in Togo, expressed his appreciation to the management of UCC Basic School for their warm welcome.
He eagerly anticipated witnessing the French students’ rapid progress in acquiring the English language by the end of the one-month exchange program.
The students’ itinerary includes visits to primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, as well as orphanages and schools catering to children with physical disabilities in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, and Ashanti Regions.
These educational and cultural experiences aim to provide the visiting students with a well-rounded perspective on Ghana’s education system and society as a whole
