Akufo-Addo’s government drained Odaw River with Gh¢100 Million in era of economic hardship

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Government has drained the Odaw River with Gh¢100 Million of taxpayers money.
This has been disclosed in a letter issued by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department ordering the Bank of Ghana to transfer ONE HUNDRED MILLION GHANA CEDIS (Gh¢100,000,000) to the account of Dredge Masters Limited for dredging waste materials from Odaw river drain near Achimota.
The letter dated March 17, 2022, has directed the Bank to make the payment to the Bank account of the Company, Dredge Masters Limited who worked for the Government of Ghana.

Meanwhile, under former President John Dramani Mahama’s Administration in 2015, Ibrahim Mahama, brother of the former President has used the equipment of government to dredge the Odaw river for free.
Currently, in the midst of difficult head ways and economic challenges confronting the country, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Government has channeled a “whopping” amount of money towards payment of work on the site.
Ghanaians are querying the Akufo-Addo-led administration on the equipment used in 2015 by Ibrahim Mahama for the same purpose and has charged nothing.
Few days ago, the government of Ghana called on his Cabinet members and appointees to cut down pay and assist rescuing the economic challenges befalling the country.
