Team CoverGhana and AgboniCares Foundation Award Scholarship to UCC Student
Cape Coast, Ghana — July 19, 2026: Team CoverGhana and the AgboniCares Foundation have awarded a full scholarship to a female student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) as part of their commitment to supporting students and expanding access to education.
The scholarship was announced during the GESAM-UCC Finalists’ Service, held on Sunday, 19th July 2026. The service was organised to bid farewell to the graduating class of 2026 and thank Almighty God for His protection, guidance, favour, and breakthroughs throughout the students’ four-year journey at the University of Cape Coast. The beneficiary’s supporters also reported the scholarship award in a public post.
As part of the support for the occasion, Team CoverGhana also covered the expenses associated with the service, including consumables, a drummer’s chair, and three standing microphones for the church.
The major highlight of the intervention, however, was the award of a full scholarship to Miss Precious Abena, a prospective Level 200 student of the University of Cape Coast. The scholarship will cover her school fees for the 2026/2027, 2027/2028 and 2028/2029 academic years.
Abena’s circumstances made the intervention particularly significant. She lost her father, who was the breadwinner of the family, during the course of her education. Following the loss, she faced financial difficulties and urgently needed assistance to continue her studies.
Speaking on the intervention, the initiative’s organisers expressed appreciation to the donors and sponsors whose support made the scholarship possible. They also appealed to individuals, organisations and institutions willing to provide additional assistance to Abena and other students currently on their support list to come forward.
The organisers further expressed their appreciation to the leadership of GESAM-UCC for bringing Abena’s situation to their attention and creating an opportunity for the intervention to be made.
The scholarship forms part of a broader commitment by Team CoverGhana and AgboniCares Foundation to support education, empower young people and create opportunities for individuals facing financial challenges.
Beyond the scholarship, the support extended to the GESAM-UCC Finalists’ Service reflects the organisers’ emphasis on giving back to the university community and contributing to initiatives that positively impact students.
For Team CoverGhana and AgboniCares Foundation, the intervention represents more than financial assistance. It is an investment in education and in the future of a young Ghanaian whose academic journey could otherwise be disrupted by circumstances beyond her control.
The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting lives, transforming lives and creating opportunities for others, while encouraging other well-meaning individuals and organisations to join efforts aimed at ensuring that financial hardship does not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education.
The initiative also comes as members of the graduating class prepare to transition from the University of Cape Coast into the next chapter of their lives.
