Nicholas Kelvin Agboni Honoured with Five Awards at PHYSAG-UCC Awards Night
Cape Coast, Ghana — Nicholas Kelvin Agboni, a final-year Physics student at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers on Campus (GNATOC), was honoured with five prestigious awards at a joint Dinner and Awards Night held by the Physics Students Association of Ghana, UCC (PHYSAG-UCC) and the Actuarial Science Students’ Association of Ghana, UCC (ASSAG-UCC).
The event, held on Friday, 24th July 2026, at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), University of Cape Coast, recognized Agboni’s contributions and impact within the university community across five categories:
- Face of the Physics Students Association of Ghana, UCC (PHYSAG-UCC)
- Excelling Student Advocate
- Student Leader of the Year
- Most Famous Student of the Year
- Influencer of the Year
The recognition came with five citations, five plaques, five certificates of recognition, a 32-inch smart TV, and a refrigerator.
Speaking on the honour, Agboni described the moment as both humbling and inspiring, saying it reflected the collective support, encouragement, and opportunities he has received throughout his four-year journey at the university.
“This recognition is both humbling and inspiring. It reflects the collective support, encouragement, and opportunities I have received throughout my four-year journey at the university,” he said.
He extended his appreciation to the Department of Physics at UCC, as well as the leadership and members of both PHYSAG-UCC and ASSAG-UCC, for the honour. “I am profoundly grateful for the confidence reposed in me and remain committed to serving, inspiring, and making meaningful contributions to the student community and beyond,” he added.
Agboni also acknowledged the support of his management team, Team CoverGhana, led by Manager Bernard Edem Nkuako, with Deputy Managers Mrs Adoma Gyabaa Sophia and Philip Kweku Anyrator. He further expressed gratitude to emerging artist Gabriel Yaw Avormado, known by his stage name Normah Gee, for his continued support throughout the journey.
“To everyone who has believed in me, supported my vision, and contributed to this milestone, I say thank you. This recognition belongs to all of us,” Agboni said. “Above all, to God be all the glory. Akpe!”
Agboni’s recognition adds to a growing list of leadership roles and accolades he has accumulated during his time at the University of Cape Coast, including his tenure as Speaker of the Atlantic Hall House of Parliament (ATLHOP) and Secretary of GNATOC-UCC, UCC SRC Presidential Candidate 2025, among other positions across student and national associations.
The Joint Dinner and Awards Night by PHYSAG-UCC and ASSAG-UCC forms part of ongoing efforts by both associations to celebrate outstanding contributions by students within the university community.
