Breakdown OF BECE 2023
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the timetable for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for the year 2023. The examination is scheduled to commence on Monday, August 7, 2023, with the first set of papers. The examination will end on Friday, August 11, 2023.

Candidates are advised to take note of the date, time, and duration of each paper as indicated on the timetable. According to WAEC, both Papers “2 & 1 for each subject are to be taken at one sitting without break. Where the duration indicated on the question paper
WAEC has also indicated that extra time will be given to candidates with visual and hearing impairment. Candidates with such impairments are advised to contact their school authorities or WAEC for the necessary arrangements to be made.
According to WAEC, “candidates with visual and hearing impairments will be given an additional 50% of the time allotted to other candidates to complete the BECE, in order to provide equal opportunities for all candidates”.
