The Founding Father and the General Overseer of the International Gods Way Church, Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim, popularly refereed to as the Angel of God (ANGEL OBINIM) due to his Angelic performances who’s arrest was effected on Tuesday, 19th May, 2020 by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has been granted bail.  

According reports intercepted by Coverghana.com.gh, the arrested “Self-acclaimed” Angel of God was granted bail with an amount of one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵100,000) by Police CID including three (3) sureties, one of whom to be justified and re-appear before the Court on 1st June, 2020, after he was sent to the Accra High Magistrate Court. The statement categorically revealed that, Bishop Daniel Obinim was arrested on warrant issued by the Court.

In reference to reports available, the kind and caring philanthropist who always describe himself as the “ONLY” Ghanaian Angel of God, has been lashed with two separate charges thus; an “offence of publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) respectively.”

The police statement issued and signed by the Deputy Superintendent, Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department, Ms. Juliana Obeng suggests that, the suspect, Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim is also under investigation for other offences leveled against him.

The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, however entreated the inhabitants of Ghana and the general public to disregard the viral video circulating on social media purported to have been the reason for arresting the popular Angel of God, saying, it has nothing to do with the arrest of Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim.
