This is the second time the Kwaku Traveller hitmaker has been nominated for the prestigious awards scheme, having lost out last year to France’s Benjamin Epps.

And this time, Black Sherif, who is still riding high after winning the Headies, will be up against the late AKA and K.O from South Africa, Zimbabwe’s Sampa The Great, Gazo from France, Central Cee and J Hus from the UK, Major Rd and Ninho from Brazil, and Tasha & Tracie from Brazil.

The young kid from Asante-Akyem Konongo is undoubtedly an inspiration to many aspiring musicians.

Black Sherif, the reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, has made considerable progress in his few years on the music industry and continues to consolidate his place as a formidable force in Ghana and abroad.

And being the only Ghanaian musician nominated for a BET Award this year demonstrates his growing worldwide significance.

The event, which is set to take place in Atlanta on October 3, 2023, will commemorate 50 years of hip-hop culture.
