A Ghanaian British Army officer has been honoured by the British Army for using social media to promote and enhance people’s understanding of the British Army.

Sergeant Jonathan Biney of 7 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) was recognised as the Army Military Communicator of the Year 2020 by the UK Army.

According to the UK Army, Sergeant Jonathan Biney who is a social media influencer on Instagram became a spokesperson for the army using both his personal accounts and the UK Army channel to answer questions from the public on many subjects.

Sergeant Jonathan Biney was born in Takoradi in Ghana. He joined the UK Army in the year 2009 as a chef and later joined 7 Regiment RLC which is based in Rutland where he trained to become a logistic supply specialist.

Sergeant Jonathan Biney since his enlistment into the UK army has been deployed to peace keeping missions in ten (10) countries.
